U.S. Border Patrol facility will be renovated and set to reopen 2022.
The McAllen, Texas, border detention facility will be closed until 2022 to allow for renovations. The building was originally constructed as a warehouse for storage and later converted into a makeshift detention center to accommodate the surge of border crossings.
The goal of the renovation will be to update the warehouse into a more modern holding center with contemporary, well-thought-out holding areas. The Border Patrol said in a statement that they will be using the funds allotted to them by Congress for the construction.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Border Patrol as they execute this project to update the facility.
- That the renovations made would improve future operations of the Border Patrol.
- That the Lord would use the future facility to protect and facilitate safe immigration procedures.
